Hello everyone and thank you for tuning into another fantastic show on The Follow The Brand Podcast. This week I would like to emphasize the importance of pivoting along your life’s journey with confidence. This is the point of view from Leon Green, a 20 plus year Health IT professional. He weaves a story that leads him from his home island of Jamaica to the U.S., where he does not know a soul and is challenged to make his mark in the world.
Leon Green says it is a good idea to develop survival skills with an open mind that teach you to fully realize your opportunities with an appetite to advance yourself through education and training. Take the time to understand your craft, and do not be afraid to embrace change.
Leon Green received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York, Binghamton campus, and is currently Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) at VITAS Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of end-of-life care. He was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and immigrated to the United States in 1987. He has over 25 years of experience in Health Information Technology (HIT), with work experiences from multiple corporations in healthcare, transportation & logistics, consulting, and systems integration. He has a passion for advancing HIT by serving healthcare practitioners and non-practitioners interested in improving the delivery of medical care and public health while lowering cost, increasing efficiency, and improving patient experience. His current projects focus on the area of digital transformation.
Leon was a member of his corporation’s team that won the HIMSS South Florida Chapter’s First Innovation Award for presenting a live solution that supported caregivers in delivering healthcare during the patient’s end-to-end journey from referral to discharge. In addition, Leon serves on the HIMSS South Florida Chapter Board as Co-Chair on the Membership Committee for the last two years. In this time, he works at meeting membership renewal, recruitment, and retention goals by providing a delightful member experience.
